I’m an enthusiastic designer, creator and human with a passion for digital experiences and a desire to make the world a little better each day.

A Little About my Journey

In my life, I have had two big passions; art and technology. Through design, I have found a way to connect both these passions, by fusing creativity with critical thinking.

I am in my fifth-year at Simon Fraser University majoring in Interactive Arts and Technology with a design concentration and a minor in Publishing. With a wide range of projects and group work under my belt I have a strong foundation in design, content strategy, and communication. Throughout my degree I have become adept at using design software such as Adobe Suite, Figma, Axure as well as web development (HTML, CSS, SASS, PHP, SQL) and object oriented programming (Java).

Aside from geeking out over layouts and design systems, I make the time for side projects that flex my creative muscles. Being a designer means more to me than just a career, which is why I’m passionate about designing outside the walls of a classroom. I have attended several hackathons throughout university, where my project Streamline won Best User Experience/User Interface (UX/UI) in 2021. In the past I have participated as a volunteer Web Designer at an educational startup, and continually work freelance projects for friends and family.

My Design Process

Ideation

Determining a design concept and deciding on scope sets the foundation of a project. This includes domain and user research, sketching/ brainstorming, and creating user flows.

Iteration

Finding the best design solution rarely happens on the first try. Its takes a lot of experimentation and iteration to find unique and creative solutions for complex problems.

Implementation

Considering the impacts of a project in use by prototyping, developing and testing ensures it can be applied to real world scenarios and promotes understanding.

Hobbies & Interests

Illustration

Although I don’t consider myself a strong artist I have always admired the field of illustration and love to doodle in my spare time.

Movies, Shows, Books

My favourite past-time is getting swept up in an amazing and immersive story. From binging a new show to having a movie marathon, there’s nothing quite like diving into a story.

Animation

Growing up loving Disney movies, I have always been fascinated by animation. I enjoy practicing the art by making small animated gifs.

Knitting

While I’m still a beginner I love knitting hats, scarves, mittens and other gifts for family and friends. I hope to make my own sweater soon!
